On August 9, 2024, the Lainat Office at Lailam Veng inaugurated the Tailoring Project, marking a significant milestone in our efforts to empower widows and orphans through practical life-skill development. Since its launch, the project has successfully completed its first batch of trainees and is currently implementing the second batch, reflecting both the impact of the program and continued community demand.
The participants come from marginalized backgrounds and are often affected by broken families, unstable marriages, and limited economic opportunities. Many carry the responsibility of supporting themselves, their siblings, or their children. Through this project, participants are equipped with essential tailoring skills that enable them to generate income and work toward long-term economic stability.
Each training day begins with a structured reflection and group discussion focused on motivation, values, and personal development. Trainees take turns leading these sessions, helping them build leadership skills, self-expression, and confidence. Through this holistic approach, the Tailoring Project aims to foster independence, dignity, and sustainable livelihoods for women and their families.
