The Lainat Home was established in 2018 in Lamka, Manipur, with the vision of providing a safe, stable, and nurturing environment for vulnerable children. The home primarily serves orphans and children affected by unstable family circumstances, neglect, and inadequate parenting. Many of these children come from deeply challenging backgrounds, where they have been left without consistent care, protection, or emotional support.
Under the ministry’s sponsorship program, children who do not have access to safe and secure shelter are accommodated at The Lainat Home. These are children who have no one at all to look after them- no parents, guardians, or relatives able or willing to take responsibility for their well-being. For them, The Lainat Home becomes not only a place of residence, but a true home where they are cared for, loved, and guided.
While some sponsored children are able to stay with their extended families or relatives, The Lainat Home exists specifically to ensure that those who are completely without support are not left behind. Through holistic care that addresses their physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs, the home seeks to restore dignity, provide stability, and give each child hope for a brighter and more secure future.
Family-Based Care Support is designed for children who, while vulnerable, are fortunate to have family members or relatives who are willing to care for them. Instead of placing these children in residential care, this program enables them to remain within their own families or extended family networks, where they can grow up in a familiar and loving environment.
Through this support, we help ease the financial burden on families who may struggle to provide for the child’s educational needs. The program covers essential educational expenses such as school fees, uniforms, textbooks, notebooks, and stationery. By ensuring uninterrupted access to education, we help children stay in school, build confidence, and work toward a better future.
Family-Based Care Support recognizes that children thrive best within a family setting when it is safe and nurturing. By strengthening families rather than separating children from them, it promotes stability, preserves family bonds, and empowers caregivers to provide consistent care, guidance, and emotional support.
