Lucy Manlianmawi was born and raised in Bukpi Village. She is the youngest among four siblings in her family. Her family earned their livelihood through banana farming in Bukpi, where she grew up learning the values of hard work, perseverance, and community life.
Lucy began her education at Convention English School, where she studied up to Class 4. She later continued her studies at Bukpi Government High School from Classes 5 to 6. In search of better educational opportunities, she moved to Lamka Town and enrolled at Covenant School, where she successfully completed her Class 10 education.
In 2017, Lucy was offered a free tailoring course by LAINAT Ministry. This opportunity became a turning point in her life, allowing her to gain valuable sewing and tailoring skills that helped shape her future. After completing the training, she continued working there until 2021, gaining experience and building confidence in her craft.
In 2021, Lucy got married and started a new chapter in her life. Despite her responsibilities, she continued stitching clothes to support herself and her family. Beyond tailoring, she also became passionate about teaching others how to sew, sharing her knowledge and empowering people in her community with practical skills for self-reliance and livelihood.
